Mujahid-e-Hurriyat, Syed Ali Gilani will live in hearts

On September 2, 2021, the world of Islam was saddened by the separation of the old lion of the independence movement. Sayyid Abu al-'Ali Maududi was a moving picture, no one could bend him down, nor could he buy him.

Despite being under house arrest for the past 12 years, a pacemaker, a kidney and a cheekless bladder body have been playing a leading role in Kashmir's independence movement. In the face of social media aggression and excessive propaganda and more than half a million Indian forces, it remained a plywood wall till the end, and remained in touch with the world of Islam in general and the people of Pakistan in particular. 

Later, if they were most addicted, then that person belonged to Hazrat Dr. Allama Iqbal. Turning the pages of history, it is clear that when he was studying in Lahore, he used to go to his grave and weep and recite "Bird's Cry". He had great devotion to Allama Iqbal.

The hardships of arrests, baton charges, firing, curfew and imprisonment could not take Syed Ali Gilani away from his goals in life. The Indian government and military tactics, arrests, internet restrictions and tactics to prevent the youth from attending the funeral could not be effective in burying him with respect. 

Attended the funeral and Mohsin, the representative of Pakistan and the life of the Kashmiri people, presented Syed Ali Gilani to Allah. May Allah elevate his ranks. Syed Ali Gilani's departure from this world also became a top trend. 

His sudden demise is a great shock to the Muslim Ummah. One day of complete mourning in Pakistan and three days of mourning in Azad Kashmir and the national flag will remain in the tunnels. Naveed Sehar is a cry for the youth.

Syed Ali Gilani was not a representative of any one party or group. He was the heartbeat of the people of Kashmir and Pakistan. The Muslim Ummah is saddened by the death of Syed Ali Gilani. 

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Army Chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, The response of Islamic leaders from all over the world, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Sajid Mir, Sirajul Haq, Ameer-ul-Azeem, will lead to recognition of the services of the freedom fighters and keep the movement alive in the occupied valley. 

The holding of funeral prayers in absentia by Jamaat-e-Islami across the country including Mansura Lahore and the participation of thousands of people in the funeral prayers is an expression of practical love for Mujahid Syed Ali Gilani of Tehreek-e-Azadi Kashmir and solidarity with Mujahidin Kashmir and Kashmiri people.

Born in Mandipura Tehsil on September 29, 1929, Hurriyat Quaid Syed Ali Gilani received his early education in Sopore, then was brought to Lahore by the famous Kashmiri journalist and writer Muhammad Din Fauq. School and Oriental College, Punjab University, Old Pomegranate College, Lahore. He studied Persian and Arabic. 

Later, after returning to Kashmir, he obtained degrees from Adib Fazil and Munshi Fazil from the University of Kashmir. He became interested in reading Maulana Maududi's books and joined the Jamaat. Became a regular member in 1963, arrested for the first time in August 1962, released 13 months later, continued to be released from prisons in 20 years. 

.He was elected a member of the State Assembly in 1972, 1977 and 1987, resigned from the Assembly in 1989 and boycotted the state elections.

For a long time he was the chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. Syed Ali Gilani also has the honor of launching a politically based newspaper, Azan, from Srinagar. Captive, persistent struggle and state repression remained a lifelong obligation. One of his kidneys was removed, he was implanted due to heart ailment, and for the last 12 years he was kept in custody with his elderly wife away from his children. 

Syed Ali Gilani loved Pakistan very much and was a strong supporter of Pakistan's accession. "We are Pakistani Pakistan is ours" was his famous and popular slogan. Syed Ali Gilani is survived by two sons, three daughters and a first wife. His wife died in 1968. He has three daughters from his second wife. He is the son-in-law of renowned Kashmiri journalist Iftikhar Gilani. 

The efforts made for Islam and the movement for the independence of Kashmir and the promotion of Islam made more than 27 books the source of their salvation. Syed Ali Gilani's voice has apparently been silenced, but his sermons, his poems, his messages will continue to energize the generations to come. May Allah grant him a high position in Paradise and grant patience to his family. Say, Amen
