The real power of PDM

There is a long history of political alliances under martial law and various democratic regimes. The PDM has been more important in the past because, apparently under an elected government, the opposition parties have announced that their target is not Prime Minister Imran Khan but their successors. When the campaign started during the rallies, there was a commotion in all the centers of power. That's when back-channel communication began. Then it was heard from some officials that in two to three months the opposition movement would be blown away. Meanwhile, instead of holding a decisive sit-in to oust the government, the parties in the PDM agreed to run in the by-elections. It was later learned that the proposal was made by Asif Zardari. To say that it takes time to have a national consensus on important issues is nothing but a hoax. The government and its patrons are not ready to forgive even their "ally" the PPP. Maybe all the sacrifices of PPP for this hybrid system will be in vain.
